This model makes history as The cheapest plug-in hybrid SUV (PHEV) in Malaysia, with prices starting around RM106,000 after the launch rebate, as well as the driving distance up to 996 km (WLTP).

Proton offers RM4,000 launch rebate for First 5,000 customers, making the effective price starting at around RM106,000. In addition, the booking fee is only RM99 with a RM500 fee rebate.
Warranty & Package 5 Power Pack
Every Proton eMas 7 PHEV comes with six-year unlimited mileage warranty as well as EV battery and component warranty for eight years or 160,000 km.
Also offered is a package 5 Power Packs worth RM7,500 which includes old vehicle trade-in incentives, Carsome rebates, 2GB internet data for five years, a free 7 kW home charger and additional eMas Care insurance coverage.
Model Origins & Body Dimensions
The Proton eMas 7 PHEV is Proton's first plug-in hybrid model based on the Geely Starray EM-i, or known as Geely Galaxy Starship 7 in China. It uses the same GMA platform as the eMas 7 EV.
In terms of dimensions, the SUV measures 4,740 mm long, 1,940 mm wide and 1,685 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,755 mm. This size makes it larger than the EV version, and offers more interior and cargo space.
EM-i Super Hybrid Power System
The Proton eMas 7 PHEV is powered by the system EM-i Super Hybrid which combines a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated Atkinson cycle petrol engine with a front electric motor.
This combination produces maximum output 262 PS and 262 Nm, is sent to the front wheels via a DHT 11-in-1 hybrid transmission. This system allows for fully electric driving at low speeds, while the petrol engine assists at high speeds for maximum efficiency.
Performance & Fuel Efficiency
For performance, 0-100 km/h acceleration is achieved in 8.0 seconds for the Prime and Premium variants, while the Premium Plus records 8.2 seconds. Top speed for all variants is 170 km/h.
In terms of efficiency, fuel consumption is stated to be around 4.3 to 4.4 litres per 100 km according to the NEDC cycle. Service intervals are set at every 12 months or 20,000 km, with maintenance costs closer to EVs than conventional ICE vehicles.
Battery, Range & Charging
The Premium Plus variant uses a 29.8 kWh LFP battery with an electric driving range of up to 146 km and a total range of 996 km (WLTP). DC fast charging of up to 60 kW allows charging from 30% to 80% in less than 16 minutes.
The Prime and Premium variants use an 18.4 kWh LFP battery with an EV range of 83 km and a total range of 943 km (WLTP), as well as DC charging up to 30 kW.
Safety Equipment & Features
The Premium and Premium Plus variants come with complete equipment including a 15.4-inch infotainment screen, 13.8-inch HUD display, 16-speaker Flyme Sound audio system, 360-degree camera, seven airbags and ADAS features such as AEB and ACC.
The Prime variant offers more basic specifications with six airbags, a reversing camera and a six-speaker audio system.
Exterior Design & Cargo Space
The PHEV version features a distinctive design identity with a full LED light strip at the front, conventional door handles and a full-width taillight design.
The cargo space is also larger than the EV version, with a capacity of up to 2,055 liters when the rear seats are folded down.
Color Options & Cost of Ownership
Exterior color options include Obsidian Black, Lithium White, Mercury Silver, Galena Grey and Azure Blue. Interior color options include Alabaster White and Onyx Black.
For a period of 10 years, servicing costs are estimated at around RM8,000, making the Proton eMas 7 PHEV among the most affordable PHEV SUVs in terms of cost of ownership in Malaysia.
